Daily Opinion: Government offers no reassurance over South East flooding

FLOODING has been in the news yet again recently. It costs the UK more than £1 billion annually, a figure which fails to reflect the human misery and disruption. The devastating floods of last winter, for example, cost the economy nearer £5 billion. And with climate change potentially set to double the number of properties in the UK at risk of flooding by 2050, this is an issue that isn’t going to go away.
